Elle exhibits innocence in life and love which is overshadowed with her interaction with the grimiest females and dudes in the streets.H.B.I.C. has fascinating characters that Ms. McGill captivates her reads with but the under thread of the storyline focusing on the antics of juveniles playing adult games lightens the intensity. Travel this road of lies, cheating, sexual promiscuity, teen pregnancy, heartbreak, betrayals, determination and intelligence as well as these youngster's thirst for that fast money. This was an enjoyable read but I found myself questioning the scenarios versus their age, supervision and consequences...a lot of risks with the end results being too neatly packaged for the daring girls to be very realistic. The voice was more narrative which altered the flow of the tale in my personal opinion. A worthy read solidified with Ms. McGill's critically acclaimed stamp! I vivaciously applaud the author for the model gracing the cover of the books...impeccably beautiful!!! I was proud to see a Beautiful Bonafide Black Woman as the cover girl! Ms. McGill, you are without a doubt a class act and your work transcends time and fads! I foresee longevity, immeasurable growth, and limitless accolades for you my sista! So proud of you and for you! Now for an authentic book junkie move...when are Jay & Portia and the crew coming back for another family reunion!?!?!?! Yes I'm a ryder for CMcGill!!! Mos Def!!

Ms.Caroline has done it again. HBIC is a must read. Once i started reading this book i could not put it down. Etta, Twayla and Elle are my new friends in my head. I loved how these three Christian sisters stuck together and no matter what they did they never gave up their faith in God. Elle is my favorite she's a die hard go getta. If you ever had any doubts that you are the HBIC read this book. I can't wait for August 1,2012 for part 2. Oh my god the teaser for A Dollar Outta Fifteen Cents, Cas i love you! I give this book 10 stars.
Once you enter the world of Etta,Twyla,and Elle this sisters are going to take you on a wild ride. From chruch to streets these divas are a force to be reckoned with. From Brooklyn to Bangladesh they will keep you guessing and on the edge of your seats. This is a must read page turner. Anything McGill writes is off the chain great job hun.
Another straight banger from the HBIC herself! Caroline McGill does it again. The Mitchell Sister are nothing to play with. Their is not a hustle they haven't tried. They love hard and play harder. These sisters go to church on Sunday and run a scam on Monday. Don't knock the hustle! You will not be disappointed! Excited about this new series

The sisters were no joke. They had hustling in them and knew how to make a buck. Ella was young with a head on her shoulder messing with her older boyfriend Knight. She was in love with him. Until people started telling her he was with other girl, including her so called friend. This book has drama, all over it. When they left church to go fight omg lol. If you haven't read HBIC when you get a chance try it.
Once you start reading, you will not be able to put it down. The church going sisters of the Mitchell household are no joke! They love to hustle and will try anything from drug runs to going to India to marry a man for money. They do it all! Elle who is the youngest will have you laughing as she embarks on her journey to become HBIC. I can't wait to read part 2 this summer.
HBIC HEAD BITCH IN CHARGE - BOOK 1 was SOOOOOOO FANTASTIC, and I LOVED it. This BOOKED PULLED ME in FROM the VERY FIRST PAGE, and it WAS'NT PUT DOWN UNTIL FINISHED. ELLE, TWAYLA, and ETTA were THREE SISTERS with an AWESOME SISTERLY BOND, ALWAYS had EACH OTHERS BACK. They had ALL KIND of HUSTLES. Although POOR CHOICES were MADE, THEY had a STRONG BELIEF in GOD, and THEIR FAITH was OFF the CHARTS. CAROLINE MCGILL NEVER DISAPPOINTS. I LOVE ALL HER BOOKS. WILL BE ON PINS and NEEDLES WAITING for the RELEASE of pt.2 - THE PRODIGAL DAUGHTERS in AUGUST. I MOST DEFINITELY RECOMMEND this FANTASTIC MUST READ..............................
